As Bitcoin (BTC) continues to rebound after a weekend plunge, approaching $115,000 (approximately 159.85 million won), some altcoins are recording double-digit gains and lifting market sentiment. The total cryptocurrency market has recovered to around 3,800 trillion won, along with a market capitalization recovery of 60 trillion won.
Bitcoin was unable to avoid a downturn amid heightened geopolitical tensions, including Trump's tariff policy announcement and the movement of US nuclear submarines, while searching for direction after the recent Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting. Amid these concerns, Bitcoin once dropped to its lowest level in two weeks, falling below $112,000 (approximately 155.68 million won).
However, "bottom-fishing" movements began in earnest Saturday evening, forming a rebound, and it is currently trading above $114,000 (approximately 158.46 million won). Market dominance is maintained at around 60%, showing relative strength compared to other assets. Experts, however, are noting the possibility of continued high volatility this week due to macroeconomic variables.
The altcoin market experienced a relatively larger decline but also a significant rebound. Ethereum (ETH) dropped to $3,400 (approximately 4.72 million won) at one point but has since recovered to $3,550 (approximately 4.94 million won), while XRP, which fell to $2.72 (approximately 3,785 won), is now attempting to break through $3 (approximately 4,170 won) again.
Stellar Lumens (XLM) is particularly drawing attention, surging 9.5% and exceeding $0.41 (approximately 570 won). Etena (ENA) and HASH are also showing similar upward trends, providing short-term investment opportunities.
The cryptocurrency market's resilience is being demonstrated once again amid major events and geopolitical uncertainties. However, experts point out that sustained upward momentum requires improvements in global economic conditions and investor sentiment recovery.
