The Trump administration is reportedly XEM a post-war plan for Gaza that would use cryptocurrency and a Tokenize land system to resettle and provide housing for Palestinian residents under a potential US takeover.
The Tokenize land will then be sold to investors to fund the area’s reconstruction. The news has drawn strong criticism from civil rights groups.
Controversial GREAT Trust Plan in Gaza sparks outrage
The White House is reportedly developing a plan for Gaza that uses Tokenize land and digital Token to resettle and relocate residents.
On Sunday, The Washington Post published a 38-page document outlining the plan. Titled “Gaza Reconstitution, Economic Acceleration and Transformation (GREAT) Trust,” the document envisions the territory being placed under a U.S. trusteeship for at least a decade, which would result in the displacement of Gaza’s two million residents .
The document describes the planned relocation as “voluntary” as it would provide Gazans with a dedicated Token for their land . These Token could then be exchanged for an apartment in the new “smart city” or for relocation to another area.
Under the plan, Gaza residents would receive subsidies for temporary housing and food for up to four years.
The plan would be funded by selling land to investors interested in redeveloping the territory. The proposal itself suggests 10 major projects, including the “Elon Musk Smart Manufacturing Zone” and the “Gaza Trump Riviera & Islands.”
The Washington Post also connected the proposal's creators with leaders of the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Organization, an organization supported by the United States and Israel.
Although reports also noted that Boston Consulting Group (BCG) contributed to the financial plan, BCG has previously denied these claims.
“Recent media reports have mischaracterized BCG’s Vai in postwar Gaza reconstruction. Two former partners initiated this work, even though the lead partner was explicitly told not to. This work was not a BCG project. It was organized and carried out secretly outside the scope or approval of BCG,” according to a July 2025 press release. Also Read .
The proposal has sparked outrage among civil rights groups. It even drew a response from Hamas official Basem Naim, who responded that “Gaza is not for sale.”
Blair, Trump and Kushner in post-war talks
Trump is not the only prominent politician to get involved in the Gaza reconstruction proposal.
Reports emerged in July that former British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s think tank was working on a similar project, which is said to be in line with Trump’s original idea of turning the Palestinian territories into a resort.
Last Wednesday, Blair attended a White House meeting with Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to discuss plans for post-war Gaza. The contents of the meeting have not been made public.
