The "tariffs aren't inflationary" crowd don't want you to see this data.

Median #CPI rose 0.3% in June and 3.6% on a year-over-year basis. See our latest median #CPI and trimmed mean #CPI updates: http://clefed.org/CPI

The fact of the matter is that it's too soon to say one way or another how inflationary the tariffs really are... but here's what we do know:
• Core CPI is higher today than in Mar.'25
• Median CPI is higher today than in Mar.'25
• Headline CPI is higher today than in Mar.'25
So if we're going to say, as of right now, that tariffs aren't inflationary, then why do all of the major measures of CPI show higher levels of inflation on a YoY basis today than pre-tariffs?
Maybe that changes in 3 months.
Maybe it changes in 6 months.
No one knows.
