Mary-Catherine Lader, President and COO of Uniswap Labs, has left the company after 4 years. According to Bloomberg, she will continue to serve as an advisor before moving to a new project. The project stated that it will continue to develop based on her contributions.
Before joining Uniswap in 2021, Lader was an executive at BlackRock and was responsible for the global Aladdin Sustainability division. Her transition from traditional finance to crypto was considered a notable turning point at the time.
At Uniswap, the leading decentralized trading platform on Ethereum, Lader played a crucial role in expanding operations, establishing internal departments such as finance, legal, human resources, marketing, and policy – helping the company develop into a more professionally structured organization. During her tenure, Uniswap raised $165 million in October 2022 with a valuation of around $1.66 billion.
Additionally, in February 2025, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) closed the investigation related to the previous Wells notice without imposing any penalties on Uniswap.
Uniswap has not yet announced a replacement for the President position. In the past 30 days, the trading volume on the platform has exceeded $73 billion, according to data from defillama.
