The procedural vote was held on Wednesday, and after some Republican lawmakers insisted on including anti-central bank digital currency (CBDC) provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act, it was ultimately passed with 217 votes to 212. The stablecoin bill is expected to have its final vote as early as Thursday, and if passed, will be sent to the President for signature.
